Description and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Vice President of Strategic Marketing for North America, the Market Research and Consumer Insights Director, will be responsible for leading consumer insights and market research for our North America business. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and executing a strategy, and influence activities across all areas of the business. This position will plan an lead critical research initiatives to provide valuable insights into consumer behavior and segmentation as well as market trends. These discoveries will have a significant influence on our business strategies, and plays a critical role in our successful growth.
You will apply your leadership and expertise in consumer and market research, syndicated data, and application of advanced analytics to the full breadth of the segment's strategy development, sales and marketing activities. You will manage a team of market analysts while utilizing an arsenal of secondary and primary research sources to identify category level market trends and consumer insights that will lead to the development of go to market strategies, products, services and platforms that will drive organic growth across all end use markets within the food & beverage segments and all related channels.

Leverage a broad range of traditional and emerging qualitative and quantitative research techniques and methodologies, drive balanced and data driven insights and recommend most appropriate actions.
Mine multiple data sources and systems to identify insights and performance metrics that are the key drivers of commercial success.
Set Regional direction on market data & analytics best practices, insight generation and reporting optimization.
Develop and successfully deploy pragmatic tools and approaches to building big data / market data & analytics capabilities and execution within the marketing function and within the Business
Lead and develop the Market Research Consumber Insights team to provide high impact, data drive reports, trends and tactics that will driving business results.
Identify consumer and market trends/insights and work across functions to advise in the development of new technologies that fit into the portfolio
Lead the gathering of market trends and consumer insights from diverse primary and secondary research studies to develop short/long term strategies that tell a compelling story.
Design, manage, and present findings on a broad range of quantitative and qualitative research. This includes recommending methods, questionnaire design, data analysis and most importantly story development to support large scale strategic initiatives.
Qualifications
Experience/Skills Required for the Role:
10-12 years business experience with a minimum of 8 years in the food industry preferred,
Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Market Research or business related field. Master's degree in a related field or MBA preferred
Market research & analysis experience utilizing both retail and foodservice data systems like Nielsen, IRI, NPD, EuroMonitor, Mintel, and others
Experience designing and leading both quantitative and qualitative primary research methods required
Experience working with research agencies that carry-out research
Excellent critical thinking, analytical and communication skills
Ability to interact & influence senior leaders within the organization
Self-directed: proactive, strong sense of accountability, independent
Flexible: willing and able to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities, ambiguity, and rapid change
Exceptional interpersonal skills: cultivating effective communication within the research team, internal business partners, and research agencies
Track record of successful project management across multiple projects, including budget, timeline, tradeoffs/priorities, and supplier management/relationships
Advanced Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel skills, SPSS a plus
Social media savvy and engaged across different on-line platforms
Passionate about the food and beverage industry
Excellent oral presentation skills
Ability to work in cross-functional teams and with people at all levels of the organization.
Ability to lead people and teams without having direct authority over them
Ability to provide insightful analysis and recommendations to diverse audiences and present results in a language non-technical audiences can comprehend
