Production Control Expeditor
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
This position is responsible for planning the work schedule of production departments using work order information and available inventory quantities. The efficient use of resources through production scheduling saves organizations money and ensures timely delivery to customers. Schedulers plan production start dates by beginning with the date materials are available for production or by working back from the customer due date
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
o Production schedulers create the manufacturing schedule and monitor it throughout the month to ensure on-time delivery of product to customers. Daily build schedules may be used throughout the month to meet the monthly goal. The scheduler monitors the production schedule during the month and makes changes when necessary, such as when resources do not arrive as planned or when equipment fails.
o The scheduler monitors inventory levels and also plans monthly cycle counting activities. A scheduler heads up yearly physical inventories. Accurate inventory quantities are necessary for the creation of production schedules
o Responsible to follow up on open purchase orders to verify there are not any issues with the purchase order and to obtain an expected delivery date, resulting in updating ERP business system accordingly
o Investigate and resolve any issues (vendor minimums, package qty., freight issues, etc.) that prevent from shipping material
o Communicate with various ERP internal departments to inform of any issues that will have impact on open customer orders and verify that all orders through the departments are ready to ship by the ship date
o Any other task or duty as assigned or required.
REQUIRED SKILLS
o Ability to read and interpret blue prints
o Ability to use a computer for data entry
o Ability to perform mathematical equations
o Excellent oral communication skills.
o Problem solving and analytical skills.
o Knowledge of the Epics system is a plus
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
o High School Diploma or equivalent
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
o Exposure to all types of temperatures.
o Physical ability to do work requiring frequent stooping, bending, lifting and reaching overhead.
o Physical strength sufficient to move parts and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
o Sufficient manual dexterity required to perform job properly.
o High degree of attention and care required to operate in a safe manner.
o Appropriate safety equipment is necessary.
o Overtime hours may be required.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
