Under general supervision, the Open Records Specialist will assist the department in processing open records requests for the Police Department with the City of Beloit.
This position will be responsible for redacting and editing of video footage to safeguard sensitive information, maintain legal standards and ensure compliance with relevant laws and policies.
The work involves the exercise of initiative and independent judgment in work performance and practice of discretion when handling confidential material.
Other duties may be assigned.
This position is classified as a casual position (19 hours per week or less, as needed, with no benefits).
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS High School Diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver's license or otherwise meet the transportation needs of the position.
Customer service experience.
One to three years of experience in law enforcement clerical and records management work.
Other combinations of training and/or experience which can be demonstrated to result in the possession of the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform the duties of this position may also be considered.
